Gartner Identifies Hyper9 as a 'Cool Vendor' in IT Operations and Virtualization for 2009
Hyper9, Inc. (, the leading provider of solutions that help virtualization infrastructure administrators manage their environment, announced today that it has been included in Gartner Inc.’s March 2009 report, “Cool Vendors in IT Operations and Virtualization, 2009,” which highlights a handful of innovative technology companies in the “IT operations and virtualization” space.

Chris Ostertag, CEO and founder of Hyper9, said that he believed his company’s inclusion in the report was “extraordinary validation of the company’s business model and the functionality of its software.

“Given the difficult economic environment, Hyper9’s ability to reduce costs and address the complexity of virtual infrastructures is attracting attention, not only from one of the premier research groups in the world in Gartner, but from customers, who have lined up to purchase the software since it became generally available a few days ago.”

The thoroughness of the offering arises from the fact that Hyper9 was developed in close consultation with virtual server administrators, who sought a product to help them more effectively manage change, configuration and performance issues in a dynamic virtual environment.

About Gartner's Cool Vendors Selection Process

Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.
