We've been hearing about VMware ESX Server 4.0 for a while now. And then we started hearing about the new product (a name change), vSphere. We also know the product has been in Beta and has been tested by parties outside of VMware. After the announcements at VMworld Europe 2009, a release of the product seems imminent.
The Register said that VMware will announce its "next generation of virtualization technology" with an event hosted by Paul Maritz. The event takes place on April 21st at the VMware Headquarters. And The Register says the event is being billed as another giant leap, one that will help make cloud computing a reality for the data center.
Intel and Cisco, key VMware partners, will also take part in this event.
Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
** Correction, I had April 24th. Should have been April 21st! Thanks John. Not sure why I had the 24th on the brain? **
