Seasoned Technology Executive Joins Hyper9
Hyper9, Inc., the leading provider of solutions that help virtual infrastructure administrators manage their virtualized environments, announced today that Bill Kennedy will join the company as its Senior Vice President of Research and Development.

Kennedy, who will be responsible for overseeing the engineering organization and the development process, has extensive experience managing software engineering teams. In January 2000, for example, he co-founded Waveset Technologies, directing research and development as well as engineering for the identity management technology company. Waveset was ultimately acquired by Sun Microsystems in late 2003.

“The addition of Bill to our team enhances our ability to innovate and successfully meet the evolving needs of VI administrators,” said Chris Ostertag, CEO and founder of Hyper9. “His experience and leadership will be critical as we continue to develop new technologies that are designed to reduce the pain and costs of managing dynamic virtualized environments and help our customers realize the ROI on their virtualization strategies.”

Kennedy, who is a mathematician by training, called Hyper9 “an exciting company whose industry-recognized virtualization management technology has made it a respected authority among VI administrators. I am looking forward to building upon Hyper9’s superlative track record with the goal of helping it solidify its reputation as the preferred virtualization management tool for all VI administrators.”

Besides his expertise in managing software engineering teams, Kennedy’s experience at Waveset of helping that company separate itself from the competition was what Ostertag remembered most from working with Bill at Waveset.

“In this difficult economic environment, we have gone to great lengths to build a company foundation with great people that will give us an edge against other companies that operate in the virtualization management space,” said Ostertag. “Whether it's recruiting virtualization experts and well-known developers in the VMware community or employing the best engineers and developers in the virtualization industry, we are committed to being the leader in this space for years to come. The hiring of Bill Kennedy reinforces that strategic approach.”
