Denver Health Selects InstallFree to Provide Application Virtualization
InstallFree, Inc., developer of application virtualization solutions for the enterprise, today announced Denver Health as its latest customer. The healthcare center is implementing InstallFree as part of an IT strategy that will double the number of Sun Ray thin-clients to 3000, and accelerate delivery of virtualized applications to nearly 7000 users throughout the healthcare system. InstallFree virtualized applications, targeting users instead of machines, allows the desktop environment to follow the user as they move from hospital to clinic, enabling maximum mobility and support of HIPAA and other compliance requirements.

Denver Health integrates acute hospital and emergency care with public and community health centers to deliver preventive, primary and acute care services. This integration promotes continuity of care for each patient through the entire course of illness, while assuring high quality healthcare is delivered in the most cost-effective setting. Computerworld magazine recently named Gregg Veltri, Chief Information Officer at Denver Health, to its 2009 Premier 100 Information Technology Leaders who shape the information technology (IT) industry and use IT to improve their company’s business performance.

“Our IT strategy is committed to managing our complex, integrated health system in the most cost effective and efficient manner,” said Veltri. "Application updates and system migrations are ongoing challenges, and we are implementing virtualization as an IT strategy to effectively meet these challenges."

InstallFree encrypts applications at delivery, which ensures compliance with HIPPA security and OMB regulations. It also eliminates application conflicts and allows different versions of OS and applications to run simultaneously. These two functions give users constant access to vital information wherever they are—from the operating room to clinic, to academic centers. InstallFree deploys inside the existing infrastructure, saving the cost of adding terminal servers. The solution is industry compliant, secure, and cost-effective for healthcare IT.

InstallFree has growing recognition for its innovative technology that requires no infrastructure changes to realize the benefits of application virtualization. The technology’s ‘hybrid approach’ allows virtualizing applications for delivery and operation without conflict in the end point environment. Most importantly, it also seamlessly integrates with backend systems for ease of management and assurance of business and regulatory compliance. InstallFree’s unique approach to virtualization simplifies the packaging and provisioning of regulated applications to streamline the process and associated costs. In this way, implementation can proceed at a faster pace.

“InstallFree is changing the fundamental economics of software delivery and use, and the broad Denver Health implementation is yet another proof point,” said Yori Gabay, CEO at InstallFree. “Mobility with constant access to vital information is crucial in delivering patient care. We are especially proud to provide Denver Health’s Tier-1 healthcare system with the most advanced technology for application virtualization that also ensures IT efficiency, economy and support for compliance.
