BlueCat's IPAM and DNS/DHCP Virtualization Appliances Prove Massive Hit with Channel Partners Worldwide
BlueCat Networks, the IPAM Intelligence Company™, today announced that its virtual appliances have proven a massive hit with its channel partners worldwide. The virtual appliances enable resellers to sell to customers that might not have previously had the budget, rack space and/or internal IT expertise to purchase BlueCat’s market-leading Proteus™ IPAM and Adonis™ family of DNS/DHCP solutions.

Ideal for organizations that have implemented a virtual infrastructure, BlueCat’s virtual appliances enable organizations to benefit from BlueCat’s IPAM and DNS/DHCP functionality without installing additional hardware – making it simple to accelerate deployment and reduce costs. Additional advantages include the ability to rapidly provision DNS/DHCP for capacity handling and relocate DNS/DHCP services from one server to another for disaster recovery support.

“The downturn in the economy has certainly made organizations in the U.K. think very carefully about which technologies they need to purchase, and offering virtualization appliances that requires no additional hardware certainly makes great sense from a cost perspective,” said Bruce Hockin, Head of Business Strategy for Networking & Security, Avnet Technology Solutions UK., an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT). “Resellers can now focus on customers that understand the need to centrally deploy, manage, monitor and audit IP addresses across the entire organization, but perhaps do not have the internal resources to install and maintain a physical solution.”

BlueCat Networks’ channel program focuses on global technology providers, brand-name systems integrators, and a top-tier portfolio of national and regional technology resellers. BlueCat Networks selectively interviews and qualifies channel program members, and expects its global channel program to account for the majority of new virtual appliance and physical product sales.

BlueCat’s multi-tiered channel program makes it simple for organizations to purchase its IPAM and DNS/DHCP appliances from a highly qualified partner with first-hand knowledge of the local market. The channel partner program provides value-added pre-sales and post-sales service and ensures resellers are extensively trained and certified to ensure knowledgeable hands-on service.

“With a worldwide market of $1.7 billion and growing virtualization provides the simplest and most cost-effective method of consolidating multiple systems,” said Michael Hyatt, CEO & Co-Founder of BlueCat Networks. “We have worked very hard to improve and expand our worldwide channel program over the last 12 months, and by developing true virtual IPAM and DNS/DHCP functionality, BlueCat has opened up a new customer base for its channel partners,” Hyatt continued. “As there is no additional hardware required resellers can provide all the benefits of our IPAM and DNS/DHCP technology while allowing their customers to save power, reduce operating costs and accelerate deployment.”

Just like BlueCat’s market-leading physical appliances, BlueCat’s virtual appliances integrate with Microsoft’s (Nasdaq: MSFT) Active Directory to completely eliminate network accessibility problems by making it simple and secure to centrally deploy, manage, monitor and audit IP addresses across an entire organization from a single web-based interface. Organizations are increasingly turning to BlueCat as the proliferation of IP-enabled devices, such as VoIP phones, RFID and wireless is making it impossible for organizations to continue managing IP addresses with spreadsheets and homegrown solutions.
