Pano Logic End-User Case Study to be Presented at Burton Group Catalyst Conference
Pano Logic, the leader in virtual desktops, today announced that their customer, McHenry Savings Bank, a full-service financial services firm based in McHenry, Illinois, will present the end-user case study, “Building the Business Case for VDI,” at the Burton Group Catalyst Conference taking place July 27-31, 2009, in San Diego. The session will be presented by Derek Niedermayer, network support supervisor for McHenry Savings of Illinois, and take place on July 31 from 9:10 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. At the conference, attendees will explore current challenges, as well as emerging technologies which are shaping today’s and tomorrow’s enterprise.

“I look forward to presenting our case study at the Catalyst Conference and sharing our experiences and results selecting and deploying a zero-client desktop virtualization solution,” said Niedermayer. “The Pano System has offered us a significant and immediate return on investment from a management, energy and infrastructure perspective, so I hope that attendees looking to deploy a virtual desktop will learn from our experience and leave the session with a few best practice ideas.”

Since first deploying the Pano System in 2008, McHenry Savings has achieved savings that include lower workstation acquisition expenses and reduced software licensing costs along with a decrease in the amount of time spent by IT building desktops and fixing workstation issues. The Pano Device’s power-friendly design has also helped them save on electricity since it uses only 3% of the energy consumed by a traditional desktop computer. The session will discuss the IT challenges McHenry Savings wanted to solve by deploying a desktop virtualization solution and how IT developed the business case to move forward, as well as what considerations and best practices they can offer other organizations.

“As virtual desktop deployments continue to grow and prove themselves to be economically favorable alternatives to traditional desktop PCs, it is important for companies to learn from colleagues firsthand about the concrete benefits that virtualization can bring to an organization,” said Aly Orady, CTO of Pano Logic. “We are pleased that Burton Group has given McHenry Savings a chance to speak about their business case for turning to virtual desktops and their successful deployment of the Pano System.”
