vePortal, LLC, a leading provider of Virtual Private Server (VPS) management software, has released the long-awaited version 2.0 of its flagship product---vePortal. vePortal is a management interface for the open-source sever virtualization project called OpenVZ, with additional platforms, including Xen, currently under development.

vePortal enables dozens to hundreds of virtual environments to leverage and share server hardware resources, resulting in exceptional data-center efficiency from administrative, ROI, and energy-consumption perspectives. Each individual virtual environment (VE) contained within can run any different operating system from a wide variety of available and pre-created templates. "vePortal 2.0 is a major step forward in our goal to provide clientele with a solution that addresses simplified management of underlying complex virtualization platforms, automates the processes, and does so all at a price previously thought not possible for such advanced software," said Gavin Hanson, CIO of vePortal, LLC. "With new enterprise-class capabilities such as clustering, reseller provisioning, and real-time backups, along with a host of new management and automation features, vePortal is now the most cost-effective path to server virtualization management."

"We have been using version 2.0 of vePortal since early beta stages, and have several production boxes now running the software since the official release. Each of these servers houses numerous virtual environments for VPS services we provide to our client base. The systems have been performing wonderfully, and our clients are ecstatic with the ease of usage of their interfaces," stated Shawn M. Arcus, PRES/CEO of BurstNET. "We're excited to use version 2.0's new enhancements, and especially the automation/integration with our billing/ordering systems, to help us further drive productivity and efficiency in our data-center, and to foster even higher savings."
