Everyone's favorite VMware EMEA evangelist, Richard Garsthagen, has written a new blog post about the "unofficial" PowerShell SDK for VMware View. Unofficial, because VMware View does not have an official SDK.
So Richard says, if you want to script/program/automate anything against VMware View today, you cannot do so officially. Luckily, there are smart people like Richard in the world who are always here to help.
He states that VMware View uses Microsoft ADAM (Active Directory Application Mode) to store its data. This is the first piece of the automation puzzle.
In this blog post, Richard shows you two examples of PowerShell scripting against ADAM.
Check these scripts out here at Run-Virtual.com.
Carter Shanklin also comments on this blog post stating that VMware View 4.5 is expected to have an official PowerShell snap-in. So good news there.
Thanks to both Richard and Carter for the news!
