Compellent to Demonstrate Toolkit for Cloud Computing at Microsoft Management Summit
At the Microsoft Management Summit 2010 conference, Compellent will demonstrate how enterprises can easily deploy cloud computing environments through the integration of its Fluid Data storage and the Microsoft Dynamic Infrastructure Toolkit for System Center. Compellent’s support for the Microsoft toolkit will allow customers to dynamically pool, allocate and manage data center resources to enable IT as a service using Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-VTM, Windows PowerShell scripting and Compellent virtualized data storage.

Compellent customers, including MaximumASP, an outsourcing firm for Microsoft Windows based hosting and IT services and a 2009 Microsoft Hosting Solutions Partner of the Year, have used Microsoft Hyper-V and PowerShell technologies and Fluid Data storage to quickly implement business applications, effectively manage virtualized environments and deploy services such as Web hosting and disaster recovery.

News Highlights
  • Compellent will demonstrate the automated provisioning and administration features of the Dynamic Infrastructure Toolkit for System Center and Fluid Data storage at the Microsoft Management Summit 2010 in Las Vegas on April 21 at 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. PST at the Venetian Hotel in the Bellini room 2005.
  • The Dynamic Infrastructure Toolkit for System Center is intended for small to mid-sized businesses that are eager to take advantage of the cost savings and operational benefits of cloud computing.
  • Compellent is a charter member of the Microsoft Dynamic Data Center Alliance, which offers best practices and technologies for delivering managed hosting, cloud services and on-demand virtualized infrastructures.
  • Compellent already supports the Dynamic Data Center Toolkit for hosted service providers.

"Cloud computing is becoming more practical and cost-effective due to efforts by Microsoft, service providers such as MaximumASP and Compellent to automate the management and recovery of data,” said Bruce Kornfeld, vice president of marketing at Compellent. “Clouds based on intelligent storage help companies be more efficient, shrink their footprint, reduce risk and increase business agility without sacrificing performance and uptime.”

Pricing and Availability
Both toolkits are free of charge. The Dynamic Infrastructure Toolkit for System Center is scheduled to be available in the 2nd quarter of 2010 downloadable from Microsoft.

The Dynamic Data Center Toolkit for Hosters is available today and interested parties are encouraged to contact Microsoft at DDCAlly@microsoft.com for more information on the program.
