Virtual Bridges Launches VERDE 4 Desktop Virtualization Suite

Virtual Bridges, makers of the VERDE™ suite that offers the industry’s lowest TCO for desktop management and provisioning solutions, today announced the immediate availability of VERDE 4. This major release sets a new industry standard for VDI with respect to simplicity, ease of deployment and management for administrators, as well as ease of use and a high-fidelity desktop experience for end users, often cited as major issues in VDI deployments.

VERDE 4 Highlights

The VERDE 4 Suite, a desktop virtualization solution for both Windows and Linux guests, introduces significant improvements for both VDI and disconnected users, further differentiating Virtual Bridges from more complex and rigid competitive offerings:

  • Only open management solution to provide both Web-based administrative console and command line interface to meet the needs of Windows and Linux administrators
  • Multiple display protocol options (RDP, RDP7, NX, VERDE) purposed to deliver a high-fidelity PC experience across varying use cases
  • Only branch office solution, CloudBranch™ to deliver a LAN-like PC experience for users connected over slow and unreliable WAN connections
  • Bi-directional data synchronization to provide consistent user experience between VDI and disconnected use, with latest OS, applications, and user documents
  • Accelerated (sub one-minute) boot times for VERDE LEAF™ to launch virtual desktops from a USB stick
  • Only solution to provide support for Windows and Linux desktops, including Windows 7
  • Only solution to offer a choice of on-premise, hosted, and federated deployments with guaranteed SLAs, to uniquely meet organizational needs for CAPEX and OPEX containment

“VERDE’s innovation continues to outpace the growing desktop virtualization market, as evidenced by the new benefits we’re delivering in VERDE 4,” said Jim Curtin, Virtual Bridges CEO. “Virtual Bridges is the only solution provider today that can provide cost-effective and comprehensive solutions with technology that has been architected purposefully for today’s dynamic workforce, whether mobile, telecommuting, in branch offices, or working from headquarters. Our growing pipeline reflects a level of interest that we are uniquely positioned to address, based on the business issues that we solve.”

“VERDE 4 recognizes that one protocol will not meet the needs of a wide array of users, and this is particularly challenging at the branch office,” said Mark Bowker, Senior Analyst with Enterprise Strategy Group. “The purpose-based approach provided by Virtual Bridges enables a consistent desktop experience to all users, matching technology with specific workforce segments, and avoiding costly investment in WAN infrastructure build-outs.”
