DeskStream Unveils Its User-Centric Dynamic Virtual Desktop Platform
DeskStream, the leading provider of high-performance Dynamic Virtual Desktop (DVD) platform, today announced the launch of its product that enables enterprises and service providers to deliver a compelling client hosted desktop virtualization solution at outrageously lower cost.

The Dynamic Virtual Desktop platform sets a new benchmark for desktop management where it brings the Web Computing paradigm to work in complex legacy Desktop Computing to significantly ease the desktop management tasks in addition to leveraging Cloud Computing for delivering Desktop as a Service (DaaS) over the Cloud.

The market for desktop virtualization technology is expanding rapidly, especially with client-hosted virtualization becoming more relevant in today’s market where more and more organizations are considering developing a successful mobile strategy to deliver secure workspaces to their mobile work force anywhere and on any device over the cloud. The DVD platform is a very compelling solution for both IT administrators and the end users as it takes a balanced approach in addressing their respective priorities effectively without compromising cost, compliance, mobility, or user experience.

According to Rachel Chalmers, Research Director, Infrastructure Management at The 451 Group, "DeskStream is interesting because it doesn't care whether you are using hypervisor or not; in a way this is the ultimate culmination of everything I have been talking about so far. Virtualization is kind of a red herring in the story of Desktop Virtualization. What we are talking about is radical simplification of the way we provision and manage all Windows workspaces whether they are running on top of hypervisor or not."

The platform delivers a reliable and scalable solution that enables enterprises and service providers to help create, secure, deliver and streamline the lifecycle of virtual workspaces swiftly and efficiently. Simplicity of operation combined with a unique desktop virtualization approach sets DeskStream apart in providing solutions to a wide range of challenges in a cost-effective way.

On the occasion Rao Cherukuri, Founder and CEO of DeskStream, said, “We are very confident that DeskStream’s DVD platform will revolutionize the way we compute in the future. Our game changing platform seamlessly works with the upcoming technologies like GoogleTV to deliver PC content on-demand to end users; enables streaming Microsoft Office to billions; and offers huge power cost savings. Just imagine a world in which workspaces are not installed in machines, but follow users wherever they go like a shadow and run on whichever device they use. Imagine a world where software isn’t installed on PCs, but lives as a single copy on network and accessible to millions of users. Imagine a world where users could rent an Adobe Photoshop, or famous graphic-rich game for a week, day, or just an hour to run it on any machine anywhere, all without compromising users’ experience - And that is the kind of world we aim to create with our versatile DVD platform.”
