Citrix CEO Mark Templeton Demonstrates Wyse Technology's Next Generation Zero Client in Citrix Synergy Berlin 2010 Keynote
Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing , today announced that Mark Templeton, Chief Executive Officer of Citrix Systems, chose Wyse's game-changing zero client, Wyse Xenith, to demonstrate Citrix XenDesktop 5 during his keynote at Citrix Synergy Berlin 2010 today.

In front of thousands of Citrix customers and partners, Templeton showed how fast the Wyse Xenith performs with XenDesktop 5.0. With the zero client going from power-on to a Citrix XenDesktop environment in six seconds, Templeton did a full demonstration playing  rich multimedia videos,  seamlessly utilizing the powerful Wyse Xenith CPU and offloading the XenDesktop server and network for better scalability. His hands-on demonstration proved to the Citrix Synergy audience that Wyse Xenith is "so easy to use, even a CEO can do it."

Templeton has served as CEO for Citrix Systems since June 2001 and has been responsible for Citrix's marketing strategy in server-based computing. Under Templeton's leadership, Citrix has become one of the world's top technology companies and a $1.6 billion leader in virtualization, networking and software-as-a-service (SaaS) technologies for more than 230,000 organizations worldwide. Wyse and Citrix began their partnership over 15 years ago, and the companies have evolved together, with Wyse building the desktop virtualization devices and software that make delivering the Citrix infrastructure to dozens or tens of thousands of users simple.

"This is the third time this year Mark has chosen to use the Wyse Xenith technology to demonstrate their technology vision, said Jeff McNaught, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Wyse.  "With Citrix Synergy coming to Europe for the first time, we're extremely proud to be part of this inaugural event's keynote and have Citrix's support and confidence in our solutions."

Wyse introduced the first zero clients in 2006. For office workers or students in the classroom, zero clients provide a new level of simplicity and reduction in costs associated with management and security.  Zero clients are similar to thin clients, but are dedicated to a particular usage scenario. Wyse zero clients have no local OS to boot, patch or manage, and as such are easier to manage and need no protection from viruses or malware.

In 2010, Wyse advanced the zero client concept to the next level, introducing the next-generation zero client definition, and introducing the Wyse Xenith zero client, offering performance, simplicity, and longevity features unavailable on any other zero client device.  The performance, ease of management, security, low energy and ability to deliver the Citrix HDX experience make the Wyse Xenith the ideal zero client for Wyse/Citrix XenDesktop customers.
