Xsigo Announces Chief Financial Officer, Karen Willem

Xsigo Systems, Inc., the leader in data center I/O virtualization, today announced that Karen Willem has joined the company as CFO. As Chief Financial Officer, Karen Willem oversees Xsigo's finance, human resources, legal and facilities operations. Karen Willem is a veteran of the technology industry, with more than 25 years of experience in finance, sales, and general management.

Prior to Xsigo, Karen Willem was CFO and EVP of Openwave Systems, a publicly traded software company in the mobile and messaging space. Before that, she served as executive vice president and CFO of Cassatt Corporation, a utility computing software start-up she co-founded. She also served as CFO and senior vice president of Brio Software (now Oracle), where she led a highly successful IPO and subsequent merger with Sqribe Technologies.

Karen Willem's other leadership roles have included president and CEO of Viewcentral, and executive sales and finance positions at Network General Corp., Gupta Inc., Avantek, Inc. (now Agilent), and Ford Motor Company. She holds a BS degree from Bucknell University and an MBA from University of Pittsburgh.

"Karen has extensive, proven leadership managing companies through periods of high growth," said Lloyd Carney, chief executive officer of Xsigo Systems. "As Xsigo continues to expand globally and play a vital role in cloud computing, Karen's experience will be invaluable to Xsigo. We are privileged to have Karen join our accomplished management team."

Karen Willem added, "Xsigo is poised for significant growth, particularly as virtual I/O technology drives the adoption of cloud computing. I look forward to being a part of Xsigo's continued success in this emerging market."

At VMworld this year, Xsigo systems launched the industry's first card-free virtual I/O for instant connectivity to the cloud. Additionally, this month the company announced the availability of an enhanced performance I/O Director that delivers the industry's highest server throughput at 4X the performance of 10G Ethernet. Xsigo's new offerings significantly further the rapid deployment of converged infrastructures required for cloud computing.
