Veeam Scores Another Industry First with Two "Product of the Year" Awards: Wins in Backup and Storage for Virtualization & Virtualization Management Categories

Veeam Software, innovative provider of VMware data protection, disaster recovery and VMware management solutions for virtual datacenter environments, scored another industry first by winning two Gold awards in the Products of the Year competition. Veeam Backup & Replication was named The 2010 Product of the Year in the Backup and Storage for Virtualization category (for the second year in a row) and Veeam ONE was named The 2010 Product of the Year in the Virtualization Management category.

With its second consecutive backup win, Veeam becomes only the second company to earn back-to-back awards in a given category, repeating VMware’s earlier achievement.

“We are honored that our data protection and virtualization management solutions both won their respective categories,” said Ratmir Timashev, Veeam President and CEO. “Veeam Backup & Replication v5 with vPower™ has become the market leader because it transforms data protection and disaster recovery in ways not conceivable in the physical world. It combines the power of virtualization with Veeam innovation to provide game-changing capabilities, enabling IT to meet recovery time and recovery point objectives without the high cost and risk of traditional tools.

“Veeam ONE offers the power of a single solution for comprehensive VMware management, eliminating the need to evaluate, deploy and maintain tools from multiple vendors to ‘fill in the gaps,’” explained Timashev. “And by providing both framework-independent monitoring for VMware as well as VMware monitoring in Microsoft System Center and HP Operations Manager, Veeam ONE is the only solution that accommodates each customer’s particular environment.”

The judges of 2010 Products of the Year agreed: “Veeam Backup & Replication 5.0 introduces some features that revolutionize VMware backup and recovery, including vPower, which allows virtual machine images to boot directly from compressed backup repositories.

In recognizing Veeam ONE, the judges said, “With Veeam ONE, enterprises can solve a variety of virtual infrastructure challenges. The product provides monitoring, capacity management, change management, reporting and chargeback for the entire infrastructure. Having all of these features combined into one product offering is a boon for users.”
