Virsto Software, an innovator in storage solutions for virtual computing, is marking its successful first-year anniversary of the launch of its flagship product, Virsto One by hitting a number of key customer and product milestones. In its first year since shipping Virsto One, the company delivered three new releases, accelerated customer adoption by signing cloud service provider and enterprise customers, expanded its partnership and product integration with Microsoft by joining the Microsoft System Center Alliance (SCA) and adding support for several core SCA technologies and completed testing to become a Citrix Ready partner.
“The success and growth we have experienced since introducing our first product has been incredibly validating,” said Mark Davis, CEO of Virsto. “Because the runaway costs and challenges with storage in virtual environments are so widespread, we are seeing 100 percent quarter over quarter sales growth and already have many production customers around the world deploying Virsto to solve their storage performance problems.”
Storage Consolidation and Accelerated Provisioning Driving Customer Adoption
Customer adoption of Virsto continues to accelerate, with new and repeat customers including Millard Lumber, Systems Solution Inc. (SSI), West Gastroenterology Medical Group (West GI) and Sienna. Driving this customer adoption is the keen interest by IT departments to use solutions that help them get more out of their existing storage hardware, accelerate storage provisioning, and optimize storage for virtualized desktop implementations.
“The results speak for themselves,” said Chris Routhe, information technology director for Millard Lumber. “By deploying Virsto One with Hyper-V, we were able to immediately cut our storage capacity consumption by over 65 percent while improving performance and cutting out hours of administrative time each week.”
“Performance requirements were driving us to provision our storage in a way that resulted in a lot of wasted storage capacity, driving up our costs,” said Scott Urofsky, chief technology officer of SSI. “Virsto helps me get significantly more out of the hardware that I’ve already paid for, and this translates directly into an ability to support more clients and generate more revenue from our outsourcing model out of a given infrastructure investment.”
“Virsto-supported instant snapshot copy operations save us hours of administrative time while reducing our storage capacity requirements by almost 75 percent,” said Femi Adegoke, IT director at West GI. “Discovering that Virsto also offers almost a three time improvement in storage performance as well has significant implications for our ability to cost-effectively, scale our IT infrastructure over time.”
