Desktone Announces New Cloud-hosted Virtual Desktop Webinar Series for Managed Service Providers

Desktone, Inc., the pioneer of Desktops as a Service, today announced a new weekly webinar for managed service providers (MSPs). The webinar, “Profiting from Cloud-hosted Virtual Desktops: How MSPs can Leverage the Desktone Cloud,” takes place on Wednesdays, 2:00PM – 3:00PM EDT.

Participants will learn about the Desktone Cloud, the industry’s only purpose-built solution for delivering virtual desktops in the cloud. Desktone will discuss how MSPs can expand their businesses by providing a compelling cloud computing offering to small and mid-sized organizations, and will cover partner benefits, requirements and the sales process.

“We’ve had a tremendous amount of interest from MSPs who want to quickly go to market with a cost-effective, cloud-hosted virtual desktop offering. Many have looked at Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments but quickly realized it requires a lot of upfront investments and is very complex to deploy and manage,” says Dave Grant, VP of Marketing at Desktone. “By partnering with Desktone and wrapping their own services around the Desktone Cloud, MSPs can deliver a secure, proven virtual desktop solution without the time, expense and complexities of building out and maintaining their own cloud or VDI environment.”

Desktone is offering the following “Profiting from Cloud-hosted Virtual Desktops: How MSPs can Leverage the Desktone Cloud” webinars in March 2011:

  • March 16 - 2PM EST
  • March 23 - 2PM EST
  • March 30 - 2PM EST

Desktone is a pioneer in cloud-hosted desktops. The Desktone Cloud is the industry’s only purpose-built product for delivering virtual desktops in the cloud. The Desktone Cloud lets customers quickly benefit from virtual desktops at a cost of $30/desktop/month—which is significantly lower than those typically associated with VDI and traditional desktop environments. By moving virtual desktops to the cloud instead of implementing an internally deployed and managed data center, companies can realize all the promised benefits of virtual desktops—centralized management, improved data security and simplified deployment— without the exorbitant cost or limitations of VDI.
