CommVault to Discuss Proactive Information Management Strategies for Reducing E-Discovery Costs and Mitigating Compliance Risks

Who: CommVault's Simon Taylor, senior director of Information Management, will present at SNW Spring 2011 taking place April 4-7, 2011 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, Calif.

What: "Proactive Data Management for eDiscovery"
Taylor will discuss the various merits and pitfalls of forensic vs. proactive approaches to the collection of electronically stored information (ESI) for eDiscovery and Freedom of Information Act requests. The session will highlight the role of archiving and backup in creating a more proactive and defensible pool of data to drive efficiency in IT and legal teams resulting in reduced costs and risks. Specific examples will be used to highlight and contrast the different approaches IT departments currently use to handle legal requests to find data both from online and offline storage environments and how multiple instances of litigation or search requests compound the complexity and cost of this task.
