Axcient Unveils Multitenant Brick-level Protection for Microsoft Exchange and Enhanced Virtualization Environment Support
Axcient, Inc., an award winning innovator of comprehensive data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery services for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Value Added Resellers (VARs), and their Small and Mid-Sized Business (SMB) customers, unveiled today the latest features of their complete data backup and recovery platform, including multiple mailbox restore for Microsoft Exchange servers and support for the widest array of virtualization environments.

With the majority of small and mid-sized business users on Microsoft Exchange, it is imperative that MSPs have powerful and flexible tools to manage and maintain their customer's mailbox data. The newest release of Axcient's best-in-class data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery service, enables MSPs to protect multiple Exchange servers, down to the message and mailbox level, from a single Axcient appliance through a single web-interface. Managed Service Providers who host multiple Exchange servers for their SMB clients can now define separate backup schedules for each of those servers and provide consistent and faster granular backup and restore for all of the latest Exchange releases, including encrypted and unencrypted modes and SBS 2011. The expanded Exchange functionality can support the protection of thousands of individual mailboxes without requiring the installation of any software.

Axcient has also expanded image backup and virtual server backup with the addition of XenServer. The Axcient backup and business continuity service now has the widest array of virtualization environment support, including VMware ESX and ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix XenServer. IT administrators are able to protect all these devices with backup, failover, and restoration to a virtual server in a matter of minutes. In addition, a Windows 2008 server running multiple Hyper-V servers can be backed up and protected at the virtual machine level and at the hypervisor level as a single image.

"It is our continued objective to provide the best backup and recovery service to our partners," said Justin Moore, CEO of Axcient. "As the only platform in our space that has been developed from the ground up and that treats backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery as a holistic problem for SMBs, Axcient is able to consistently innovate to stay ahead of the curve. Adding multi-mailbox restore for Exchange and broad virtualized server support was a key request from our partners and allows them to provide an even more comprehensive, robust, and cost-effective solution for their small and mid-sized customers."

The latest editions to the Axcient suite of backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery services are available to all current and future customers through Axcient's easy to use web-interface.

"Axcient continues to understand the vital needs of their partners," said Mike Heil, CEO of ThrottleNet. "The advanced ability to backup and recover multiple Exchange servers on one appliance is a powerful addition to the Axcient service, allowing us to provide independent, object-level protection to our clients' hosted Exchange environments. And with the expansion of virtualized server support, we are able to meet the growing needs of our diverse client-base and keep them up and running at all times. Axcient is rapidly becoming the number one choice for the SMB market and we are all excited to see their continued innovation."
