Librato and OpSource Team to Deliver Resource Monitoring and Control for Cloud Applications
Librato, a leading provider of software for maximizing the utilization of hardware and software in clouds and data centers, and OpSource, the leader in enterprise cloud and managed hosting solutions, announced today a partnership to deliver unprecedented monitoring, visibility and control of cloud-based applications. These cloud innovators made the announcement today at All About the Cloud 2011, the industry's largest ISV cloud computing conference, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Librato is presenting a demo of its Silverline application workload monitoring and management in the OpSource Partner Pavilion.

OpSource's public cloud offering provides an easy-to-use, secure, multi-tenant cloud hosting service that is architected to provide high performance and high availability, backed with 100% platform and network availability guarantees. Librato's Silverline solution provides the monitoring and control of the resource use of applications.

Silverline provides end users with unprecedented insight into process use, with graphical visibility into individual applications' CPU, memory, network and disk I/O usage for a single virtual server or an application across multiple virtual server instances. With Silverline Workload Management, it is possible to prioritize applications, assign more resources to high-priority apps and let background apps scavenge for idle cycles. This enables companies to run more workloads concurrently on the same server instance while guaranteeing service levels.

"The two most important things SaaS vendors are concerned about when choosing an infrastructure provider and management tools are availability and performance," said Fred van den Bosch, CEO of Librato. "Silverline complements the OpSource enterprise-class infrastructure by providing DevOps professionals the tools they need to reach their availability and performance goals. Our active Workload Management feature helps them manage application performance and stability, and Application Monitoring provides the visual feedback they need to do root cause analysis to correct performance problems."

"Companies that have adopted agile processes need real-time visual feedback and automation tools to find the root cause of performance and availability problems, manage application performance and resource utilization and do capacity planning," said Keao Caindec, SVP and chief marketing officer of OpSource. "We're pleased to partner with Librato to bring granular visibility and control to the cloud."
