Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, was recently recognized by IDC as the worldwide leader in enterprise client devices, surpassing all other vendors.
IDC's Worldwide Enterprise Client Device Tracker, part of IDC's ongoing research on enterprise client devices, identified Wyse as the worldwide leader in enterprise client devices with 26.2% market share for Q1 2011. IDC also noted that unit shipment growth for Wyse was 52.3% and 15.9%, YoY and QoQ, respectively. Hewlett Packard, the world's second-largest provider of enterprise client devices had 25.8% market share in Q1 2011, with 23.9% shipment growth YoY, and 3.3% shipment decline QoQ.
"Our most recent Tracker results confirm that Wyse leads enterprise client device share in the U.S. and worldwide," according to Bob O'Donnell, Vice President, Clients and Displays, at IDC. "The company showed strong growth across multiple regions, leading to the worldwide leadership position for Wyse."
Wyse focuses exclusively on simplifying cloud and virtual desktop implementations for businesses, government and education institutions. These deployments take the form of a wide variety of hardware and software offerings - ranging from thin and zero clients to virtual desktops and cloud clients, as well as the server software that supports advanced user experiences and unique geographic requirements, such as banking or retail branch offices.
"I can think of no better way to celebrate Wyse's 30th anniversary this month than to see our name atop IDC's list of worldwide market leaders in client devices," according to Jeff McNaught, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Wyse. "This report validates our relentless focus on the desktop, as well as our cloud software portfolio and the hard work of our employees, partners and customers worldwide."
