Xcedex, a leading provider of IT system cloud, virtualization, and performance optimization solutions announced the release and general availability of the X_Factor Virtualization and Cloud Management Appliance (VCM2 TM).
Xcedex's new X_Factor VMC2 Appliance provides a full range of applications specifically designed for planning and real-time management of cloud computing. Like all Xcedex products, X_Factor VMC2 Appliance is truly agentless with no third party software installed pre or post deployment. The X_Factor VMC2 Appliance provides discovery, inventory, analysis, design, planning, configuration, and performance management of all potential and existing cloud computing environments. This powerful comprehensive approach allows users to quickly identify key cloud computing considerations such as workloads, group workloads and services pooling, etc. and model this information in different scenarios to produce the optimal cloud computing plan for their organization. Furthermore, post deployment to the cloud, the X_Factor VMC2 Appliance allows real-time monitoring, on-going analysis and continued optimization of the fit between the changing demands on applications, and performance and the architecture of the cloud environment.
Included within X_Factor, Xcedex's flagship product, are cloud planning and management applications that provide software inventory and compliance analysis, energy savings analysis, virtualized workload storage alignment analysis, and storage configuration and disk design architecture analysis with X_Factor DiskCooker.
X_Factor also has a built in custom reporting facility that report findings in actionable reports and plan documents, e.g. Virtualization Readiness Plan (VRDTM), Virtual Disk Alignment Report (VDARTM), and Cloud Readiness Plan (CRPTM). Users can also import their own templates to customize as desired, since all the reports have auto population capabilities to export data.
The new X_Factor VMC2 Appliance is available and offered by Xcedex's Global Alliance Partners, Xcedex directly, or online at the VMware Marketplace.

“As more companies embrace the cloud, they have the potential to reduce spending, but most will likely see their costs rise if their cloud is not planned properly and subsequently managed with the correct cloud IT management tools that provide insight into the physical, virtual, and cloud layers” says Chris Taylor, President and CEO, Xcedex. “Cloud infrastructures can naturally over time be plagued by either over-subscribed capacity or excess capacity. Furthermore, this problem is highly exacerbated by the lack of visibility created by traditional IT infrastructure management tools that are not suited to the cloud.”
Xcedex is working closely with a number of clients and cloud providers in North America and EMEA, which hosts and provides cloud computing to more than 100,000 businesses, since cloud providers know that X_Factor is a reliable and trusted cloud IT management tool.
X_Factor's innovative programming and broad range capabilities help organizations with design, analysis, cost management, implementation and monitoring over their physical, virtual or cloud platforms: Physical to Virtual (P2V), Virtual to Virtual Alignment / Optimization (V2VOTM) and Virtual to Cloud Planning and Management (V2CPMTM).
