MUSA Announces Disaster Recovery Featuring Veeam to Provide a Failover Location in a SAS 70 Type II Datacenter
MUSA, a leading provider of information technology products and consulting services to companies requiring value-driven disaster recovery and business continuance solutions, today announced the immediate availability of MUSA’s Managed Disaster Recovery and failover location powered by Veeam.

“At MUSA, we’ve made an investment in time and effort to deploy a Managed Disaster Recovery failover location powered by Veeam: Backup and Replication,” explained Josh Campbell, Senior Solutions Consultant at MUSA Technology Partners. “We are the first Veeam Service Provider to offer a public location for companies to back up their mission-critical VMware virtual machines. In the event of a disaster, we’ll bring our clients’ servers online at our failover location in a SAS 70 Type II datacenter to provide them with access to their business-critical information while they return functionality to their production environments. The power of Veeam paired with the experience of our trained technologists allows us to offer our clients a value-driven business continuance plan that is safe and secure, and to provide backups that are quickly recoverable.”

Douglas Lantigua, Principal of MUSA Technology Partners, continued, “One of the most challenging aspects of developing, implementing and maintaining a business continuity plan is that the costs often overshadow the risks. However, 6% of your total Information Technology budget is a small investment to ensure critical systems come back online before irreparable damage to your data and bottom line occurs. Developed with techniques in alignment with our Validated Cloud® solution and leveraged by Veeam policies and procedures, we’re able to offer a complete disaster recovery solution for VMware virtual environments – a truly cost-effective option for companies looking to stay below the aforementioned 6% best practices threshold. In an effort to demonstrate our continued commitment to data security, we constantly undergo external audits of our security procedures to ensure that our environment can successfully withstand regional disasters.”

MUSA’s Managed Disaster Recovery and failover site featuring Veeam is available to all clients who require value-driven off-site backup and storage of their mission-critical VMware virtual machines. MUSA will take an initial backup, perform incremental delta synchronization nightly, and in the event of a disaster will work quickly to mount each client’s essential backups at MUSA’s SAS 70 Type II datacenter. Upon successful restoration of business-critical systems at MUSA’s managed failover location, MUSA will work with each client to restore onsite functionality of the production environment using Veeam’s image-level backups. Companies in the Life Sciences industry who require regulatory compliance have the option for MUSA to deploy their failover location in accordance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 quality system regulations and/or 21 CFR Part 11 electronic record standards.
