VMworld 2011 Party - Headlined by The Killers

It's official, The Killers will be the headline band at this year's VMworld 2011 party in Las Vegas.  Way to go VMware!  Pretty exciting news if you ask me.

Ok, so there's a lot to do at VMworld: Labs, Breakout sessions, Keynotes, Networking, Visiting vendor solutions on the exhibit floor, Ask the Experts, etc... and yes, parties!  There are quite a few parties during VMworld, from the welcome reception, to private vendor parties, and even parties before the show such as the widely popular one from VMunderground.  But for regular VMworld admission pass holders, the really big one is the official VMworld party taking place on Wednesday, August 31 at 7PM.

At VMworld 2009, it was Foreigner (sorry, but, blah!).  Last year, it was INXS, a great 80's band, who did a fantastic job even without Michael Hutchence (RIP) -- awesome job by J.D. Fortune replacing the front man and lead singer.  And now this year, VMware and VMworld brings us The Killers!

The Killers are an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada that was formed in 2001, by Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards) and Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals). Mark Stoermer (bass, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion) would complete the current line-up of the band in 2002.  To date, the band has sold over six million albums in the United States, over five million albums in the United Kingdom and over 18 million worldwide.

Here's a little taste of what's to come at the party -- one of my favorite songs from the band, Mr. Brightside.
