SaaShost.net, a leading SaaS (Software as a Service) provider of Cloud business applications, announced today that VMware’s Zimbra 7.1, released by Zimbra in April, is now available as a hosted service from SaaShost.net.
According to Zimbra, the 7.1 version is more than just a maintenance release. “We’ve done some important plumbing to set the stage for a few new features coming later in the year as well as added internationalization enhancements.” Zimbra noted that S/MIME encryption and support for smartcard authentication are included in those features.
“Give the ongoing explosive growth and popularity of the Zimbra platform, we felt it was important to make this new Zimbra release available as soon as possible to our customers as a hosted service,” said Darrek Porter, VP of Marketing for SaaShost.net.
SaaShost.net stands apart from the competition with a SaaS delivery platform that has unique integrated features and services. SaaShost.net is the only hosted services provider that offers both Microsoft Exchange and Zimbra with supported migration between the two services, and couples those services with NotifySync. The company also offers automated integration between Microsoft Exchange and Global Relay, and other features that enable 3rd party application integrations that increase the power and productivity of its customer’s SaaS services.
Productivity, openness and manageability are central to the list of benefits delivered to end users by VMware’s Zimbra 7.0 release and the new ZCS 7.1 version. The upgrade has enhanced the feature-rich email and collaboration solution, allowing new data sharing functionality, expanded calendaring and search, as well as increased management ability for end-users.
