Xsigo Introduces Server Fabric Technology Partner Program
Xsigo Systems, the leader in virtualized data center infrastructure, today unveiled its first-ever partner program of technology vendors committed to arming mutual customers with integrated solutions that greatly accelerate the deployment of fully virtualized data centers. Called the Server Fabric Alliance, the program brings together technologies that allow IT managers to create and deploy fully functional data center architectures in minutes rather than months. Initial partners in the Server Fabric Alliance program include:
  • Blue Coat Systems
  • Hitachi Data Systems
  • Infoblox
  • Nimble Storage
  • Nimbus Data Systems
  • SolidFire
  • TrendMicro
  • Vyatta
  • Zenoss

"The pieces have finally come together to quickly configure fully functional virtual data centers, entirely in software, without the need for pulling cables or configuring switch ports," said Bruce Fingles, vice president of product management, support, and alliances. "IT managers can now deploy a complete data center, with virtual appliances, virtualized storage, optimized servers and virtual data center I/O, as easily as they can draw a data center Visio diagram."

Joint solutions enabled by Server Fabric Alliance members provide the building blocks of the truly agile data center, delivering all the functionality, performance, availability, and security of a traditional data center, but far more quickly and at a fraction of the cost. Compared with data centers based on legacy networking gear, the virtualized data center requires 80% less hardware, consumes 50% less power, and can be deployed anywhere in the world in minutes.

Quotes from Xsigo Server Fabric Alliance Members

"With the industry's only VMware Ready WAN Optimization virtual appliance, Blue Coat enables companies to combine its powerful solution with best-of-breed solutions on open, industry standard server hardware. Xsigo's Server Fabric technology helps extend the value of our virtualized WAN optimization solution in the data center," said Shreyas Sadalgi, director of business development at Blue Coat Systems.

"Mean-Time-To-Change is the new metric for virtualized data centers. The combination of Infoblox's market-leading, automated IP address management solution with Xsigo's Server Fabric technology helps eliminate network infrastructure provisioning and performance bottlenecks resulting from conventional systems and processes that can slow MTTC," said Dave Barry, senior director of business development at Infoblox.

"Nimble Storage is pleased to join with Xsigo to address the unique performance and scalability challenges raised by virtualization," said Fred Love, marketing director at Nimble Storage. "The Xsigo Server Fabric eliminates two critical storage challenges – I/O bottlenecks and management complexity – which makes it the perfect complement to Nimble Storage's family of virtualization-optimized storage arrays."

"Combining Nimbus award-winning S-Class Flash Memory platform with Xsigo's I/O Virtualization technology makes datacenters more efficient than ever before, a perfect combination that underscores our Sustainable Storage vision," stated Thomas Isakovich, CEO of Nimbus. "We are delighted to be an inaugural partner of Xsigo's Server Fabric Alliance and look forward to working together to enable the intelligent and efficient datacenter of tomorrow."

"We are pleased to join Xsigo as a technology partner in their Server Fabric Alliance. Xsigo's Server Fabric technology is connecting the next generation of compute and storage infrastructure, enabling a fully virtualized data center," said Jay Prassl, vice president of sales and marketing at SolidFire.

"Combining Trend Micro's highest-performance virtualization security platform and cloud key management service with Xsigo's Server Fabric technology means our joint customers can increase their cloud security while achieving more than 10 times better virtualization server density," said Dave Asprey, vice president of cloud security at Trend Micro.

"Combining Vyatta's industry leading network virtual machines with Xsigo's Server Fabric technology simplifies the connectivity and security of fully virtualized datacenters," said Tom McCafferty, vice president of marketing at Vyatta. "Our joint solutions address the number one concern in cloud computing, security, with an on-demand software-based solution that eliminates much of the cost, time and complexity associated with legacy networking gear."

"Xsigo's Server Fabric Alliance program brings together Xsigo's innovative virtual infrastructure capabilities that seek to connect any resource to any server, with Zenoss Service Dynamics, which provides a single end-to-end service assurance solution designed for today's dynamic datacenters, spanning physical, virtual, and Cloud infrastructures," said Bill Karpovich, CEO of Zenoss, Inc. "The end result is an integrated solution that provides IT Operations with the agility and instrumentation they need to reduce costs, increase flexibility, and meet service levels."

Xsigo Systems: Driving the Revolution in Data Center Connectivity
Xsigo's Server Fabric provides virtual connectivity among virtual machines, virtual appliances, networks and storage. Only Xsigo provides the isolation and performance of a physical wire, with one-click connection simplicity, and without the need to configure switch ports or VLANs.
