Liquidware Labs Continues Aggressive Expansion with Top Industry Talent

Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation, today announced the addition of three more key senior sales leaders to cover strategic markets as well as two alumni from a past competitor to occupy key technology development positions.

Vizioncore alumni Joseph Castro, Paul Buergey, Scott Bennett and Anne Waterhouse have joined the rapidly-growing sales force at Liquidware Labs in regional sales management roles. Castro will lead sales for the Eastern US while Buergey will head the Western US Region. Bennett will drive sales in the United Kingdom, Benelux and Southern Europe, and Waterhouse will head up sales for Australia and New Zealand. All are very familiar with their roles as these positions are the same ones that they held for years during their careers at Vizioncore.

“We are very excited to have this opportunity to bring known, successful sales leaders with solid industry relationships into Liquidware Labs to further engage with the channel and our rapidly-growing client base,” said Chris Akerberg, SVP of Global Sales. “These experienced pros will aggressively pursue our prime directive of capturing the desktop-virtualization market with our proven and award-winning solutions.”

In addition, Ron McKelvey and Pete Del Rey, co-founders of PHD Virtual, have also joined Liquidware Labs as Director of Special Projects and Technology Evangelist, respectively. PHD Virtual was an early competitor to Vizioncore, and the two companies were instrumental in driving acceptance of the first solutions for virtual machine backup.

“In spite of the fact that we were competitors previously, we’ve always been friendly with Dave Bieneman and Tyler Rohrer, and there is a great deal of mutual respect in this group,” said McKelvey. “Pete and I both are extremely pleased to be part of a very dynamic team here at Liquidware Labs. We think that lightning will strike twice as we provide the kind of products that will redefine desktops and drive virtualization across more levels of use.”

McKelvey co- founded PHD Virtual in 2006 with Del Rey after working with P2V technologies in the very early roll-out of server virtualization technology and subsequently became one of the top providers of P2V custom solutions for large, early-adopter companies. McKelvey also has more than 20 years of successful development experience in providing custom solutions, and his work in virtualization led to the development of esXpress, which gained the respect of growing client base and is still a widely-used backup solution for VMware environments.

Del Rey is a long time virtualization Industry veteran who co-founded PHD Virtual in 2006. He was a key contributor in the launch of the esXpress backup software for VMware and played a key role in the rapid growth of PHD Virtual in the industry. Pete held many leadership and management positions throughout the growth of PHD Virtual after a successful career in development for ERP and data center systems at Siemens. He has also been active in the VMware and XenServer community boards and regularly contributes to these sites under the board name “petedr.”

“We are very pleased to add these highly-experienced individuals to our employee roster here at Liquidware Labs,” said David Bieneman, CEO. “We are especially glad that Ron and Pete have found a home here and look forward to their contributions to both our product development and thought-leadership for the industry. We plan to continue to recruit top talent to round out a strong global team as we pursue very aggressive goals toward triple-digit growth.”
