CumuLogic, a Java Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) software provider, today announced that the
company now supports OpenStack. The move will increase underlying
infrastructure choices for developers and organizations using the CumuLogic
platform and will bring an enterprise-grade PaaS offering to OpenStack, freeing
users from proprietary cloud platforms. Backed by more than 110 participating
organizations including Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP and Rackspace, OpenStack is an
open source cloud operating system for public and private clouds.
"Platform-as-a-Service offerings are becoming increasingly
important for developers using the cloud to accelerate their deployments," said
Mark Collier, Vice President for Rackspace Cloud Builders. "With the Diablo
release, OpenStack's capabilities are stronger than ever for these users, so
support from PaaS solutions only enhances their experience and support this
growing segment of cloud users."
"By integrating their PaaS with Citrix CloudStack, CumuLogic
provides their customers with added choice, while offering the expertise to
deliver a PaaS for OpenStack," said Peder Ulander, Vice President of Product
Marketing, Cloud Platforms Group, Citrix Systems. "We look forward to seeing the
OpenStack community grow and thrive as more customers deploy
clouds."
CumuLogic’s PaaS solution - currently in beta, enables enterprises, cloud providers and ISVs to leverage
Java PaaS to deploy highly scalable applications in public, private and hybrid
cloud environments. CumuLogic’s platform also provides enterprises with
the means to standardize their IT application infrastructure, simplifying
development environments while giving developers the capability to focus on
quality applications.
The move further extends CumuLogic’s commitment to the open
cloud and follows last month’s introduction of their complete solution for
public and private clouds running on Amazon, Citrix, Eucalyptus, VMware, and now
OpenStack. CumuLogic PaaS can be provisioned on multiple clouds simultaneously
allowing organizations to architect and deploy highly scalable, fault tolerant
applications. Additionally, CumuLogic PaaS enables enterprises to leverage
public clouds while maintaining a consistent deployment environment across
on-premise clouds and public clouds.
“CumuLogic remains focused on enabling organizations to
retain their existing investments in Java technology while improving developer
productivity and leveraging the agility and economics of cloud computing,” said
Rajesh Ramchandani, Founder and VP of products at CumuLogic. “Integrating with
OpenStack platform only furthers our purpose of bringing a standard PaaS to the
cloud and increasing freedom of choice for enterprises, ISVs and cloud
providers.”
