New VMware Fast Track Course from Global Knowledge Immerses Students in vSphere 5

Global Knowledge, VMware Global Education Partner of the Year, today announced the availability of VMware vSphere: Fast Track [V5.0], an accelerated, extended-hours VMware vSphere 5 training course.

VMware vSphere: Fast Track [V5.0] packages the complete content of two Authorized VMware courses, VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V5.0] and VMware vSphere: Automation with vSphere PowerCLI [V4.x], with a voucher for the VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 5 (VCP5) exam for five intensive days of vSphere 5 skills building and certification preparation.

Students will gain hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing VMware vSphere 5, and they will learn to improve efficiency, availability, flexibility, and manageability by automating tasks using VMware vSphere PowerCLI. Students will spend nearly half of class completing more than 30 hands-on labs, covering tasks such as:

  • Configuring VMware ESXi
  • Installing, configuring, and using VMware vCenter Server
  • Using templates and clones
  • Modifying, migrating, managing, monitoring, and provisioning virtual machines
  • Creating resource pools
  • Using vSphere High Availability
  • Configuring access control, virtual switches, storage, the ESX/ESX host, and clustering
