Fujitsu Launches NuVola Private Cloud Platform Solution Featuring Transformative Appliance-Based Network Software Tools and Utilities

Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leading provider of IT-based business solutions, including advanced technology products, biometric security, and digital media solutions, today has announced its new private cloud computing platform named NuVola. The NuVola Private Cloud Platform solution is an appliance-based offering built with class-leading Fujitsu server and storage products, and paired with advanced software tools and utilities that transform business critical processes by leveraging private cloud computing power, security and scalability.

NuVola Private Cloud Platform appliances can transform a host of functional business processes to improve speed, efficiency and performance. Integrating technology from key partners, each NuVola appliance is purposely built to address customer pain points for a variety of functional processes. Initially, NuVola Private Cloud Platform appliances will focus on the functional IT process areas of search, storage, multi-media transcoding and data analytics.

Central to all NuVola Private Cloud Platform solutions is Fujitsu’s class-leading ETERNUS storage and PRIMERGY server hardware. Leveraging the broad portfolio of storage and server system configurations and capabilities, each NuVola appliance can be tuned to match customer needs, both now and in the future.

Private Cloud environments must match the specific needs of customers, thus there is a premium on key parameters, including speed, performance and value. Fujitsu has aligned itself with hardware and software partners whose focus in on maximizing private cloud performance with an economical perspective.

Myricom, a technology leader in extreme-performance 10-Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) solutions specialized for vertical markets, is specified to provide network adapters for NuVola.

Eucalyptus Systems, the world's most widely deployed cloud computing software platform for on-premise (private) Infrastructure as a Service clouds, provides the platform and web services software layer for NuVola.
