Teradici Expands PCoIP VDI Adoption Through Distribution Agreement with ELSA

Teradici, the developer of the innovative PC-over-IP (PCoIP) protocol that enables a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, today announced a distribution agreement with leading Japanese provider of computer graphics solutions, ELSA Japan, Inc.. ELSA’s established relationships with Japanese resellers and system integrators will help meet demand for Teradici’s APEX 2800 PCoIP server offload card in the Japanese market.

“At ELSA, we are focused on providing solutions to ensure organizations are being supplied with the most innovative and highest quality solutions,” said Shige Setsukawa, general manager, technical department at ELSA. “We see the APEX 2800 PCoIP server offload card as a product that will accelerate VMware View VDI sales cycles for our reseller partners and are pleased to add this product to our solution portfolio.”

Designed to offload PCoIP image encoding responsibilities from VMware View servers, Teradici’s APEX 2800 server offload card is a performance enhancement to VMware View deployments. It can dynamically manage unexpected peaks in CPU processing demands ensuring a consistent high level user experience at the desktop while dramatically reducing CPU utilization and allowing IT managers to provide increased VDI consolidation ratios.

“ELSA has a proven track record for providing leading enterprise computing solutions for the Japanese market that combine quality, high-performance products and world-class support to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction,” said Trent Punnett, vice president marketing, product management, and systems engineering, Teradici. “We are pleased to have them as a key distribution partner to further strengthen Teradici’s presence in Japan.”

The APEX 2800 PCoIP server offload card will be available December, 2011 with a suggested retail price of JPY239,000. For further information and to complete a product reservation form, visit
