Zimory Launches New Open Cloud Business Solution

Zimory GmbH introduces its new, open cloud business solution, offering European customers improved interoperability and reduced costs; fully compliant with the EU mandate on Data Protection. Zimory, a provider of independent and elastic cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) management software, offers all user, consumption and the metadata of a service, available in an open standard interface. This provides full transparency and monitoring of user consumption and data, enabling organizations to manage costs more efficiently.

Using proven open source technologies as a basic framework, Zimory makes available a new capacity management tool and monitoring facility capable of fine grained analysis of usage patterns in large clouds for extended periods of time. In essence it allows technical administrators to run heterogeneous, geographically distributed clouds efficiently, whilst still maintaining guaranteed SLAs.

Any customer can use Zimory’s IaaS software without discrimination; Zimory’s configurable REST-based API enables users to automate and scale on demand, providing complete business agility, responsiveness and speed to market. The company strongly advocates the elimination of vendor lock-in by providing support for a variety of virtualization software, enabling compatible clouds based on Microsoft, Oracle, VMware and Open-source ready clouds such as XEN and KVM. The constraints that normally exist around specific interfaces disappear and customer decisions can be based upon performance. The ability to utilize existing legacy infrastructures allows customers to lower the total cost of ownership.

International companies increasingly trust clouds made in Germany, as the data protection standards and security are unsurpassed. The security standards complied with by Zimory provides robust protection, safeguarding the invaluable data of global customers.

Zimory’s recent involvement in the European Commission’s cloud computing consultation program and active membership with organizational bodies such as BITKOM, TM Forum and the Open Cloud Business Initiative is helping to drive an industry based on open standards. These standards are addressing vendor lock-in concerns and data issues around portability, privacy and security in order to deliver substantial benefits to its global constituents.
