Virtacore Systems, Inc., an industry leader in hybrid cloud services, today
announced their inclusion in the December 8, 2011 Gartner 'Magic Quadrant for
Public Infrastructure as a Service,' written by Gartner analysts Lydia Leong and
Ted Chamberlain.
"Virtacore is able to deliver secure and agile public cloud services
utilizing the VMware vCloud architecture based on vCloud Director 1.5,"
stated Mathew Lodge, senior director, Cloud Services, VMware. "This architecture
allows their cloud management portal to move workloads between all types of
VMware-based clouds."
Virtacore is located in the Niche Players quadrant, which is defined by
Gartner as, 'Niche Players are typically relatively new entrants to the market.
They may be excellent providers for the use cases in which they specialize. Not
all these providers have a well-established track record, and some of them have
limited experience serving enterprise customers.' Virtacore believes this
position supports its recent entry to the public cloud market and their vision
to provide the SMB market with private and public cloud solutions, enabling them
to build a custom hybrid cloud.
Hybrid clouds are any combination of different types of
Infrastructure-as-a-Service clouds, maintained by both internal and external
providers. They allow customers flexibility and freedom of choice when building
a cloud infrastructure. Learn more at www.virtacore.com.
