Dennis Hoffman Joins VMTurbo Board of Directors

VMTurbo, the leading provider of intelligent workload management software for cloud and virtualized environments, today announced that Dennis Hoffman has joined the company’s Board of Directors. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Hoffman will help guide the Company’s continued acceleration in providing cloud-scale operations management solutions to large enterprise and service provider customers like British Telecom.

Hoffman is currently Senior Vice President, Service Providers at EMC Corporation, where he is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s service provider strategy and related initiatives. Previously, Hoffman served as Senior Vice President of VCE (Virtual Computing Environment Company formed by Cisco and EMC with investments from VMware and Intel), and Vice President of Information Security, where he was instrumental in the acquisition of RSA Security and the formation of EMC’s security division. Hoffman also served as CEO and Co-Founder of Storigen Systems, a pioneering developer of distributed storage networking software that was acquired by EMC in October 2003. In addition, Hoffman spent six years at Avid Technology where he was responsible for the marketing and business development of its storage and networking products.

“Service providers are building out cloud infrastructures on vCloud Director, CloudStack and OpenStack platforms and must run these environments at high levels of efficiency to compete with commodity providers like Amazon EC2. At the same time, they have to differentiate themselves with service, service level assurance and management capabilities. VMTurbo is perfectly positioned to assist on both fronts and I look forward to helping advise the company as they accelerate these efforts,” said Hoffman.

“I look forward to working with Dennis and am excited to have him join our board,” said Lou Shipley, President and CEO of VMTurbo. “His background in the service provider market and extensive understanding of virtualization, storage and networking technologies – proven through his work at VCE and throughout his career – make him a valuable asset to VMTurbo as we grow our presence in this strategic market."
