vScience: The Science of Virtualization and Cloud Technologies Workshop is Coming to Austin, TX July 23-25, 2012

If you haven't already, make sure you check out and sign up for this upcoming virtualization and cloud workshop series taking place in Austin, TX, July 23-25, 2012 at the Austin Contention Center -- vScience, LLC.  This isn't your ordinary virtualization or cloud event, and that's what's cool about vScience.  The event is focused on intense technical training for IT professionals who are currently working or involved with virtualization and cloud computing environments.  And it includes the audience in a group-wide “live-design” exercise that works to solve in real-time, a complex virtualization problem. The live-design activity leverages all technical aspects of the 3-day workshop in order to produce a “real-world” working virtualization implementation design that will then be made publicly available.

Much like other trade shows, vScience targets professional computer programmers, developers, architects and administrators that are currently involved in virtualization and cloud environments. But after bringing these individuals together, vScience expects to fill in the virtualization training gap by providing a classroom-style setting with hands-on labs and interactive training, taught by leading experts in the field.  At the event, you'll meet and learn from industry experts such as Edward Haletky (hybrid cloud security), Cody Bunch (automation and orchestration for virtual environments), Thomas Bryant (business continuity and disaster recovery), Scott Lowe (storage technologies) and more.  These industry experts will present deep-dive technical sessions on the science of virtualization and cloud technologies that attendees can use to further their skills. A lab room will also be made available from 7-10 p.m. each evening as well as made available via a VDI connection so attendees can have the flexibility of working from their hotel rooms or offices to continue to work on things they've learned throughout the day.

Workshops will last approximately three days and will include the following:
  • Breakfast and lunch during all workshops
  • 8-9 Technology Deep-dive Sessions: presented by the workshop headliners
  • Live-Design Panel: headliners will design an environment accounting for the aspects covered by the previous deep-dives.
  • Optional Troubleshooting Panel (of the six headliners): 30 minute presentations on troubleshooting virtual environments, followed by questions and answers until the end of the session
Attendees will achieve the following accomplishments and benefits;
  • Designing and building a practical, real-world implementation using today’s cutting-edge technologies,
  • Implementing and integrating implementation designs into current IT environments,
  • Receiving award-type recognition for audience participation and key accomplishments throughout the workshop,
  • Access to a video library encompassing workshop presentations, training and design implementation

Act quickly, because registration is limited!  With the type of workshops being offered, the event only accepts 300 attendees per show.  This limitation is because the workshop actually engages the audience in designing a real-world implementation, and it would prove way too difficult to do this with a crowd that is too large in size.

Registration is currently underway. Go to http://vsciencellc.eventbrite.com/ for more information and to register for this event.
