Liquidware Labs Announces that Stratusphere UX is a Supported Component of VMware Branch Office Desktop Architecture

Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation solutions, today announced that Stratusphere UX is a supported monitoring component of the VMware Branch Office Desktop architecture which includes VMware View, VMware vCenter Operations Manager, and VMware Mirage. With nearly 11 million branch offices and up to 80% of all workers staffing locations other than primary headquarter facilities and main business offices – this solution comes at an ideal time to support the heightened needs of remote office operations.

The company is currently demonstrating Stratusphere UX, and all of its desktop transformation products, including Stratusphere FIT and award-winning Profile Unity FlexApp, at Booth E720 at VMworld Europe in Barcelona, Spain, this week, October 9th through 11th.

The VMware Branch Office Desktop provides a comprehensive approach to addressing the multiple, heightened requirements of branch offices. The combination of VMware Mirage for image management/disaster recovery and VMware View to deliver virtual desktops as a service ensures network constraints, legacy support, and offline requirements can all be accommodated without impacting performance or productivity. Where WANs are robust and reliable, VMware View together with VMware vShield™ and VMware vCenter Operations Manager for VMware View enable organizations to do more with less and to adopt an automated, policy driven approach to managing end users in their branches.

Liquidware Labs Stratusphere UX is a supported component of the VMware Branch Office Desktop architecture and provides critical visibility into performance of a highly distributed remote branch office infrastructure. Stratusphere UX visibility ensures that IT staff can provide a solid local worker experience in a secure, efficient, and affordable manner with a minimum of ongoing management and support overhead. Stratusphere UX provides a single-pane-of-glass monitoring of user experience across VMware View and VMware Mirage delivered desktops as well as those delivered on physical PCs or other devices. Alerts and Dashboards provide insight into non-normal operations for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting to maintain 24/7 uptime for branch operations.

“Legacy enterprise monitoring solutions focus on systems silos, elements and objects. However, today’s organizations must have visibility into and correlation across their virtual, physical, network, application, mobile, and desktop landscapes in addition to the systems layers,” said J. Tyler Rohrer, co-Founder of Liquidware Labs. “Stratusphere UX is the solution of choice for leading companies because of its depth of data and correlation. Publishing desktop data into VMware vCenter™ Operations via our new Stratusphere UX Adapter technology facilitates analysis, planning, trending, and alerting, which meets a critical need for VMware enterprise clients.” Stratusphere UX is currently used by leading companies, including Fortune 500 giants Aetna, Home Depot, MetLife, TIAA-CREF and Wal-Mart. In the VMware Branch Office Desktop architecture, Stratusphere UX™ offers the following benefits to customers:

  • Simplifies management and reaction to user experience issues in persistent and non-persistent VMware View environments, physical desktops, and VMware Mirage delivered workspaces of remote and branch office workers from a central location
  • Promotes greater desktop virtualization ROI and economies of scale because more workers can migrate to virtual desktops and image managed desktops
  • Reduces desktop administrator time on maintenance and troubleshooting activities with no remote touch required
  • Brings user experience validation for remote and branch workers back into the data center with state of the art visibility
  • Supports diagnostics of desktop issues at the network, systems, users and applications levels for swift collaboration and remediation of problems

“By partnering with VMware in this initiative, Liquidware Labs will help ensure employees have fast, secure access to applications and data to maximize productivity no matter where they are located,” said Mason Uyeda, Director of Technical Marketing, End-User Computing, VMware Inc. “The Stratusphere UX Adapter and the newly available metrics and custom dashboards will be a welcome addition for desktop administrators seeking to gain control and optimize the productivity of their remote and branch office workers.”

Liquidware Labs Stratusphere UX is also recognized as an industry-standard desktop monitoring and diagnostics solution for Cisco Validated Design for VXI. Stratusphere UX software downloads are available free of charge for evaluation. For a limited time, prospective users can still take advantage of Liquidware Labs “Dare2Compare” program, which provides free, fully functional Stratusphere UX licenses, including Support services for one full year, for up to 10% of your current virtual desktop monitoring managed seat count, or 200 seats maximum.
