Virtual Bridges Becomes First Desktop Virtualization Solution to Achieve IBM PureSystems Certification

Virtual Bridges, Inc. today announced it is the first desktop virtualization infrastructure (VDI) solution to be certified as “Ready for IBM PureSystems,” enabling customers to simplify and accelerate the deployment of employee applications and virtual desktops across the enterprise in a secure manner to any device.

This certification validates Virtual Bridges’ ability to integrate tightly with IBM PureSystems, providing customers the flexibility of a general purpose system that is as elastic as the cloud but as simple as an appliance.

Ready for PureSystems offerings are optimized for performance and virtualized for efficiency. They are designed for the cloud with flexibility and simplicity. The new certification includes both Virtual Bridges VERDE and IBM Virtual Desktop with VERDE from Virtual Bridges.

“As customers scale VDI around architectures designed to handle ever greater workloads like the IBM Flex System, they will become even more concerned with security and data separation,” said George Kamis, Chief Technology Officer, Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions. “By leveraging our Trusted Thin Client® technology as the secure access point, Virtual Bridges VERDE customers can scale quickly and rest assured that their corporate and government data is safe on our combined solution.”

Virtual Bridges simplifies desktop management, improves security and increases business agility. The solution gives end users access to Windows and Linux desktops from any location or device — including tablets, netbooks, laptops and thin clients – and enables IT professionals to manage desktops centrally, reducing the costs and challenges associated with provisioning, updating and securing highly distributed PC environments.

“We continue to see strong demand from companies that want to virtualize thin clients in their desktop environments,” said Robert Hammond, vice president of new business development, 10ZiG Technology. “Leveraging the expertise of Virtual Bridges and the IBM Flex System, we can provide a desktop virtualization solution that delivers energy efficient, easy to manage solutions while achieving a lower total cost of ownership.”

“We’re extremely proud to receive this first-of-its-kind validation from IBM,” said Jim Curtin, founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Virtual Bridges. “While we’ve all heard the horror stories about painful deployment scenarios, this new certification assures our customers that Virtual Bridges is different. Not only is the technology easy to deployand scale, but the team is committed to helping customers achieve long term success.”

IBM and Virtual Bridges continue to expand their collaboration to help businesses effectively manage and secure user desktops. Virtual Bridges serves as the cornerstone of IBM’s Virtual Desktop, and is used by organizations of all sizes around the world to lower the barriers of virtual desktop management. It reduces cost, complexity and security risks, and allows employees to use their desktops remotely from any location, with any device.
