Creationline, Inc., a company which has substantial experience in constructing cloud infrastructure and thorough knowledge of cloud technologies, has announced a new solution aimed at Apache CloudStack management support (CloudStack Federation Tools, abbr: "CL@FT(Craft)"). Phase 1 addresses "Virtual Router, System VM monitoring".

CL@FT(Craft) is a solution for managing Citrix CloudPlatform powered by Apache CloudStack and Apache CloudStack more effectively.

CL@FT(Craft) aims to improve the management of complex cloud infrastructures, making use of proprietary applications and scripts built up from know-how accumulated by Creationline from numerous consulting projects in deploying and supporting CloudPlatform/CloudStack.

・Monitoring of Virtual Router, System VM (Secondary Storage VM, Console Proxy VM), which are difficult to monitor with common monitoring software

Virtual Routers and System VMs (Secondary Storage VM, Console Proxy VM) are created from templates provided by CloudPlatform/CloudStack. Therefore, it is impossible to install agents used by common monitoring software. This monitoring solution collects monitoring data from Virtual Routers and System VMs (Secondary Storage VM, Console Proxy VM) via ssh.

・Monitoring integration with common monitoring software

To support continued use of familiar monitoring software, this monitoring solution can output Virtual Router and System VM (Secondary Storage VM, Console Proxy VM) monitoring data in log4j format to standard output or to file. By adopting the log4j standard format, this monitoring solution enables integration to existing common monitoring software via log monitoring.
