BlueStripe Software Introduces Tool to Monitor Server Operations

BlueStripe Software today announced the availability of FactFinder Express, the first transaction and distributed application performance monitoring tool built specifically for Server and Systems Administrators. For any managed server, FactFinder Express shows how the specific server interacts with the distributed applications and transactions running across it.

"The release of FactFinder Express marks a huge milestone for both BlueStripe Software and the Systems Management industry," said Chris Neal, CEO of BlueStripe Software. "While traditional server monitoring tools are usually limited to the commodity metrics found in a standard Task Manager Window, FactFinder Express ties every resource and metric to the overlying distributed applications and user transactions. We wanted to get this powerful tool in the hands of Server owners quickly, so we've made it available through a free trial download."

FactFinder Express opens up the application layer of the server for IT Operations administrators, giving them access to data that otherwise would require the use of development or application performance management tools.

BlueStripe took their award-winning FactFinder Transaction Monitoring technology and created a server-oriented tool for Systems and Server Administrators. Now Server owners can see exactly which distributed applications are running on a given server, and how each application is performing, from client requests through to back-end server requests, all without looking at application code or log files.

Within a managed server, FactFinder Express shows how each distributed application impacts both historical and real-time resource and performance data (CPU, memory, disk I/O, etc.). Users can quickly detect when resource contention creates performance bottlenecks, or investigate a problem from earlier in the day, or the night before. For IT Operations teams struggling to identify the cause of intermittent problems, the ability to review performance data from the time of an incident greatly enhances the team's ability to isolate problems.

BlueStripe also announced the creation of the company's first try and buy download program, making a fully functional version of FactFinder Express available for IT teams to download and try. For small organizations, FactFinder Express provides enterprise level capabilities specially priced for smaller environments. Larger companies and teams that are just starting to consider end-to-end transaction monitoring can get started with Express before expanding to FactFinder Enterprise.
