PHD Virtual Launches New Unified Solution with Recovery Management Suite

PHD Virtual Technologies, a pioneer in virtual backup and disaster recovery assurance solutions, announces today the PHD Recovery Management Suite (RMS), the first and only unified data protection and recovery assurance solution to dramatically reduce the cost of data, application, business service and site-wide recovery within SLAs.

The Recovery Management Suite combines powerful capabilities, including:

  • PHD Virtual Backup: provides reliable backup, replication and recovery of virtual machines, individual files, and application items
  • Cloud Backup is provided through PHD Virtual CloudHook: convenient cloud storage for offsite data protection
  • Disaster Recovery is assured through PHD Virtual ReliableDR: delivering business service-focused, application-aware disaster recovery failover/failback, testing and orchestration

“While information backup is now a priority for many organizations, the recovery of data, applications, business services as well as protecting data centers is often a risky proposition because failover and failback do not perform as expected,” said Joe Noonan, Sr. Director of Product Management, PHD Virtual. “The costs of dealing with recovery failures can be staggering in terms of business service downtime, in lost revenues and in damaged reputations. PHD’s new Recovery Management Suite automates the labor-intensive manual recovery process and constantly verifies that recovery occurs within SLAs.”

A recent report from DCIG senior analyst Ken Clipperton highlighted the wide scope of the problem and its implications for business stating, ‘Most of the IT manager respondents to a recent survey are not confident that they could restore their systems quickly and completely in the event of an outage with 68% indicating their data was vulnerable in the event of a disaster and their data restore problems put service level agreements with customers at risk. Beyond the basic ability to recover data, the speed with which applications and services can be recovered has significant bottom-line impact.’

DCIG reported that businesses lose an average of about $5,000 per minute in an outage and when it comes to service recovery, speed matters.

“With the PHD Recovery Management Suite, organizations can now have a single solution that provides the needed assurance, cost savings and reliability customers need for complete backup, replication and recovery of VMware infrastructures,” said Clipperton.

Recovery Management Suite

PHD Virtual Recovery Management Suite is the only solution to offer comprehensive, integrated recovery that addresses the entire recovery continuum, from granular files to full sites. It provides unified data protection and recovery assurance capabilities delivered through integrated backup, replication, recovery and DR orchestration that is powerful, scalable, easy to use, and delivers immediate value ‘out-of-the-box.’
