GreenBytes Named to CRN Magazine's 2013 Top Emerging Virtualization Vendors List

GreenBytes, Inc., a developer of full-featured virtual desktop optimization solutions that uniquely support existing infrastructure, today announced that it has been named a 2013 Emerging Virtualization Vendor by UBM Tech Channel's CRN Magazine.  The annual CRN list highlights hot tech startups making an impact on the channel and the tech industry as a whole.

Recognized for its virtual desktop optimization solutions, GreenBytes was named a "Virtualization Virtuoso" for combining innovative technology with successful go-to-market strategies. CRN specifically noted GreenBytes' initiative to expand the market for its IO Offload Engine and vIO virtual storage appliance through strategic technology and channel alliances.

"Any technology vendor can claim to offer innovative products and groundbreaking technology, but only a select group can truly impact the marketplace with their offerings," said Robert Faletra, CEO, UBM Tech Channel. "The companies named to the 2013 Emerging Vendor list offer solutions that deliver as promised while creating the high margins that solution providers demand. We congratulate all the vendors for their commitment to delivering technological innovations that map to the needs of the dynamic channel market."

"With so many companies' desktop virtualization efforts thwarted by extremely high storage-related costs and performance issues, the demand for GreenBytes virtual desktop optimization solutions has been unprecedented," said Steve O'Donnell, Chairman and CEO, GreenBytes. "Our partners find GreenBytes' unique ability to reduce storage requirements by up to 98% while boosting performance provides a much-needed resolution to the desktop virtualization challenge, enabling them to deliver compelling and affordable desktop virtualization solutions."

GreenBytes' award-winning IO Offload Engine and vIO virtual storage appliance leverage the company's patented zero latency inline deduplication technology, which deduplicates data in flight, removing all redundant data in real-time before it's written to the existing storage device. GreenBytes solutions enable users to eliminate desktop virtualization Input Output Per Second (IOPS) hurdles, which, without GreenBytes, place more load on the storage area network (SAN) than it can handle. With GreenBytes, businesses deploy high-performing persistent virtual desktops at cloud-scale -- without adding expensive, additional RAM to every server.
