What is @LiquidwareLabs Showcasing at #VMworld 2013?

In case you missed this cool video of Liquidware Labs co-founder and CEO, David Bieneman and VP of worldwide marketing, Grace Krokidas, talk about what you can expect to see and hear at the Liquidware Labs booth at VMworld 2013... here is a little more insight.

As the leading 3rd party solutions provider for VMware Horizon View, Liquidware Labs will show at VMworld 2013 why they keep earning awards and accolades such as VMware Technology Innovator Partner of the Year.
You can see some amazing product demos at the show, including:

  • Stratusphere FIT, the premier desktop assessment solution, used to date on over 5 million desktops worldwide by our partners and VMware PSO to assess existing physical desktop configurations and usage to design VMware VDI.
  • Stratusphere UX, the leading diagnostics and desktop monitoring solution that provides independent metrics collection to support Health Checks, Validation and Performance Tuning of VMware Horizon View environments.  Our Adapter plug-in technology allows you to feed desktop metrics into VMware vCenter Operations Manager for a comprehensive view of your virtualization infrastructure from endpoint to the cloud.
  • ProfileUnity, which  is emerging as the “go-to” persona management solution for VMware Horizon View environments when more robust functionality is required over the basic features of VMware Persona Manager.  The FlexApp feature extends ProfileUnity to provide both user-installed and department-installed applications on demand, thus reducing the number of desktop images required.

And at the show, they are introducing two new extremely valuable features in ProfileUnity – FlexDisk and Flex-IO further reduce the cost and complexity of VMware View deployments.

  • FlexDisk provisions flexible user VMware VMDKs on a VMFS to eliminate application and data streaming over the network. A single FlexDisk with an application or data can be shared among many users enabling an organization to reduce application and data storage space requirements by roughly 100:1.
  • Flex-IO leverages ESXi host RAM to accelerate common IO across your virtual desktops which significantly increases the number of available IOPS  to  25,000 or more per ESXi host.  Flex-IO also reduces your storage footprint by up to 50% with disk compression. The combination of RAM to accelerate IOPS along with  disk compression is what makes Flex-IO able to greatly simplify non-persistent VDI environments and removes the need for costly high-speed storage arrays and expensive maintenance.

And if you are still running scores of Windows XP boxes... avoid the coming XPocalypse when Microsoft ends support for this OS next year, check out ProfileUnity for Migrations. You can automate migrations at least 3x faster than manual processes, much more accurately and securely.  And new preconfigured templates for the most common migration scenarios allow you to point-and-click on an ideal configuration and get set up literally in minutes.
