Teradici, the developer of the PCoIP
protocol, today announced the addition of a new Dell Wyse D10DP
thin client to its PCoIP Optimized client portfolio. Utilizing
Teradici's PCoIP protocol, an innovative remote display technology
that allows a user's desktop operating system, applications and
data to reside in the datacenter, the Dell Wyse D10DP thin client
is also equipped with WiFi connectivity, providing a flexible
solution to organizations with limited access to a wired network
such as remote offices with wireless access only.
"At Teradici,
we are committed to expanding our PCoIP client portfolio to extend
flexibility and features to VDI customers," said Ziad Lammam,
director of product management at Teradici. "We have been extremely
pleased with the continued success of the Dell Wyse P25 and P45 PCoIP
zero clients. With the Dell Wyse D10DP, we are thrilled to join
forces with Dell once again to offer a top notch virtual desktop
client that combines the performance benefits of the PCoIP
protocol with the flexibility of the Dell Wyse ThinOS platform."
By utilizing the PCoIP protocol, the Dell Wyse D10DP thin
client complements the Dell Wyse P25 and P45 PCoIP zero clients,
offering knowledge workers an extended set of features such as
WiFi connectivity, multi-protocol support and the ability to
access multiple PCoIP sessions concurrently. The Dell D10DP is
complementary to a number of remote uses cases where wired LAN
access is not available, for example kiosks, hospital stations and
industrial warehouses.
Dell Wyse D10DP thin client features include:
- Dual-core AMD 1.4 GHz processor with Dell Wyse ThinOS 8
- WiFi connectivity
- Multi-protocol support
- Multi-session PCoIP support enables multiple desktop PCoIP sessions to run concurrently
- Dual 1920x1200 displays and 4 x USB 2.0 ports
"The
Dell Wyse D10DP is the first thin client to use Dell Wyse ThinOS
and the Teradici PCoIP protocol, demonstrating another milestone in our
partnership and innovation," said John Atkins, Product Manager at
Dell Cloud Client Computing. "The D10DP is a feature-rich solution
ideal for remote offices looking for flexible desktop
virtualization solution with PCoIP performance. With the D10DP
thin client and the P25 and P45 PCoIP zero clients, Dell Wyse
offers a comprehensive client portfolio for knowledge workers and
power users for desktop virtualization."
