Parasoft Service Virtualization Integrates with VMware for a Complete Simulated Test Environment

At VMworld, Parasoft announced that it is partnering with VMware to deliver a complete test environment to development and QA teams. This partnership features Parasoft's Jolt-award-winning Service Virtualization offering, Parasoft Virtualize.

"Modern applications have multiple dependencies that are required to exercise the application under test," explained Wayne Ariola, Parasoft Chief Strategy Officer. "Our partner, VMware, allows you to virtualize the applications that are within your scope of control. Parasoft Service Virtualization complements this by delivering virtual interactions for system dependencies that are outside of your control. By simulating these constrained dependencies, Parasoft Service Virtualization gives Development and QA access to a complete test environment—anytime and anywhere."

Case Study: Service Virtualization in a VMware Environment

Parasoft Service Virtualization, working hand-in-hand with VMware, helped one of New Zealand’s largest government agencies reduce test environment provisioning delays from weeks to minutes.

The agency's testing efforts were previously impacted by test results that did not accurately predict production performance, gridlock due to commonly utilized components not being available to multiple teams, as well as test environments that were unstable, unreliable, and difficult to configure. Now that the agency transitioned its software testing platform from the physical world to the virtual word, its teams gain access to the exact test environment they need within minutes. Multiple projects and components are tested in parallel, projects are completed faster, and defects are discovered when they are easier and less expensive to fix.

Read the complete case study to learn how simulated test environments have fundamentally changed this organization's approach to testing and development.
