Blue Box Announces Early Adopter Program for OpenStack Hosted Private Cloud

Blue Box, a leading managed cloud infrastructure provider, today announced the kickoff of its early adopter program for OpenStack Hosted Private Cloud. This latest offering from Blue Box will enable customers to focus on building and deploying their applications, while Blue Box manages the underlying OpenStack infrastructure, providing unequaled security, control and performance of dedicated hardware.

"Even for the most advanced IT teams, OpenStack can be a challenge to deploy and a burden to manage and operate.  Because of these hurdles, we've experienced a rapid rise in interest from companies looking for a smoother path to an open source private cloud," said Jesse Proudman, founder and CEO of Blue Box. "Companies adopting OpenStack can empower both developers and IT teams to spend more time innovating and less time managing their IT resources."

Big Fish, the world's largest producer of casual games, turned to Blue Box to assist in building out a cloud infrastructure built on OpenStack. Blue Box quickly delivered the gaming giant an OpenStack Hosted Private Cloud, which is used by over five hundred worldwide developer partners.

"Big Fish Games had a unique set of requirements with our first OpenStack deployment. We needed a vendor who demonstrated technical expertise in building and supporting cloud infrastructures on OpenStack, while keeping pace with our often changing technical requirements," said Paul Farrall, Vice President of Operations at Big Fish. "We selected Blue Box because they consistently demonstrated their expertise in these areas and their ability to quickly adapt to our requirements. We are delighted with the experience so far and expect much success in the future with Blue Box."

Participants in the Early Adopter Program will be in the company of Big Fish Games and other enterprises as one of the first to experience Blue Box's OpenStack Hosted Private Cloud, with key benefits including:
  • A platform that manages OpenStack orchestration, including monitoring and release management
  • Powerful compute, storage, and networking APIs with self-service tools
  • A secure, web-based, OpenStack Dashboard
  • Enterprise security for compliance oriented workloads including HIPAA and PCI
  • Hands on, managed support to ensure applications are up and running 24/7/365
