Virtual Bridges and Talligent Announce OEM Agreement to Provide VDI Chargeback Capabilities for the Enterprise

New metering and billing adapter will enable MSPs and large enterprises to track accurate usage and measurement of VDI session information

Virtual Bridges, Inc. and Talligent today announced an OEM agreement in which Virtual Bridges will embed Talligent’s metering and billing solution, providing VDI chargeback capabilities to the enterprise. The addition of chargeback to Virtual Bridges’ VERDE platform gives large enterprises and managed service providers deep visibility into resource utilization data to ensure appropriate cost control and workload mapping.

Talligent is leading the industry in cloud based chargeback enablement by supporting a variety of platforms like VERDE, and has emerged as the first company to offer a billing and metering solution for the OpenStack platform.  Virtual Bridges selected Talligent for its unrivaled ability to measure infrastructure, applications and cloud services, as well as flexible billing models.

“As adoption of the cloud continues to grow, many of our customers, especially those in the public sector, are requesting chargeback and metering capabilities in conjunction with their virtual desktop environments,” said Bradley Sanford, vice president of corporate development and strategic alliances at Virtual Bridges. “Together with Talligent, we’re delivering a fully-functional, simple to use metering and visualization solution that is architected with VDI and the cloud in mind.”

The new chargeback adapter will extract VDI session information to enable accurate usage and measurement of each Virtual Bridges instance. Available in Q1 2014, the solution will include out-of-the-box integration with VERDE server infrastructure, enabling VERDE session usage and chargeback capabilities starting on day one.

“As private and public cloud deployments mature, there is a growing need for sophisticated metering and billing functionality built to address those environments,” said Sanjay Mishra, chief architect at Talligent. “Virtual Bridges’ unique multi-tenant solution is a great fit for our chargeback solution. Through this partnership, we’re enabling organizations to gain transparency into cloud infrastructure utilization by tenant or workload, and do fine-grained metering on a variety of resource usage patterns as well as tenant personas.”

Launched last month, VERDE 7 combines a robust, enterprise-class solution with the fastest, easiest and least expensive approach to desktop virtualization. The solution includes multi-tenancy and roles-based access controls that enable large enterprises to provide VDI services to their own organizations, and service providers to deliver secure, dedicated VDI desktops that comply with third party licensing agreements.
