Pivot3 Appoints Ron Nash as Chief Executive Officer

Pivot3, a leading supplier of video surveillance and virtual desktop (VDI) software-defined storage appliances, today announced that Ron Nash has been named the company’s chief executive officer. With extensive experience at Pivot3 as an investor, member of the Board of Directors, and chairman, Mr. Nash will be responsible for accelerating the adoption of Pivot3 solutions in the market and strengthening momentum following its recent $14 million funding round.

“I have worked with the talented team at Pivot3 for eight years now and seen tremendous progress. Today, Pivot3 is a very successful company with disruptive technologies and products that address massive and fast growing markets. They have more than 600 satisfied customers across a variety of industries and geographies. I see the company at an inflection point for higher growth and am very optimistic about its future,” said Mr. Nash. “Having led both small and large companies through rapid growth periods to significant scale and business success, I saw that I could help this team as they accelerate. Pivot3 serves customers and partners in the VDI and surveillance markets by providing out-of-the-box software-defined storage solutions that are high-performance, easy-to-deploy and cost-effective. I am very excited to join the Austin and Houston based teams that will propel Pivot3 to even greater success.”

A veteran technology industry executive, Mr. Nash has driven growth when he led smaller companies like ExoLink (acquired by Alliance Data Systems), Advanced Telemarketing (now Aegis Global) and Rubicon (acquired by Cerner), as well as at larger information technology companies like Perot Systems (now Dell Services) and EDS (now HP Enterprise Services). He was a senior vice president at Perot Systems as they grew revenue from $100 million to $1.2 billion and played a key role in their IPO in 1999. Early in his career, he served in a variety of technical and business leadership roles at EDS. More recently, he served as a partner at InterWest Partners, investing in successful breakthrough technology companies like Pivot3 and Lombardi Software (acquired by IBM).

“We are thrilled to welcome Ron to the operations side of the Pivot3 team at such an exciting time of growth,” said Bill Galloway, CTO and founder of Pivot3. “He has a proven track record of driving significant business growth in leading high tech companies and since joining our Board of Directors in 2005, Ron has continuously brought an insightful, practical and strategic perspective on our company’s direction and helped us recruit key executives. We are certain that his expertise will be a valued asset in our next phases of hyper growth.”

Mr. Nash holds a Master of Science degree in Management and Administrative Sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in finance, as well as a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, majoring in information and control systems. He has been recognized as a distinguished graduate by both universities for his business and volunteer activities.
