Radware, a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions
for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced it has launched its newest
platform, the Alteon Virtual Appliance (VA) Cloud - a cloud application delivery
controller - which is now available as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) on the
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace.
Radware's Alteon VA enables organizations to run applications across private
and public cloud infrastructures, while improving overall quality of experience
(QoE) for users accessing business applications. Its availability on the AWS
Marketplace allows Radware customers to deploy mission critical applications on
the Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) with ease.
Radware launched the Alteon VA for AWS during AWS re:Invent,AWS' largest
gathering of developers and technical leaders from the AWS community in Las
Vegas, Nevada, from November 12 - 15, 2013.
"We are pleased to have Radware's Alteon ADC become available on the AWS
Marketplace," says Terry Hanold, vice president, cloud commerce, AWS. "It's a
great opportunity for customers to deploy enterprise applications on Amazon VPC
while retaining the application delivery functionality they have been used to in
their on-premise datacenters."
Key benefits include:
- The ability to run business critical applications across private data
centers and the Amazon Cloud, enabling businesses to benefit from both high SLA
and flexible cost
- Increased support for application development on Amazon Web Services cloud
for later migration into a private data center
- Functionality that is critical to global application deployments of high
SLA applications - Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Web Performance
Optimization (FastView(TM)) and built-in GSLB
- Reduction in overall IT costs, scalable infrastructure capacity, and the
ability to rapidly deploy applications globally
Utilizing Radware's Alteon VA for AWS is Seat Pagine Gialle Italia, a media
company most famous for producing the Yellow and White Pages directories in
Italy. Since they first launched in 1925, Seat Pagine Gialle has always been
looking to innovate in order to help companies better market themselves. Seat
Pagine Gialle has branched out from telephone directories to now offer street
maps, online advertising, mobile and web content creation and eCommerce
services.
Currently hosting over 100,000 websites and serving the needs of over 12.5
million households and over 3 million businesses in Italy, Seat Pagine Gialle
needed a technology infrastructure that was secure, reliable and flexible to
meet such large traffic numbers.
"With Radware's Alteon VA for AWS, we can easily run applications on Amazon
or in our private datacenters, eliminating concerns around application
performance or meeting SLAs for our customers," says Domenico Martini, network
manager at Seat Pagine Gialle. "The Alteon VA Cloud helps us gradually migrate
websites to Amazon Web Services cloud without any service disruption or
additional cost."
Seat Pagine Gialle implemented Radware's Alteon 5224 in its primary data
center and deployed Alteon VA Cloud in the AWS Ireland region. As a result, the
company was able to seamlessly access its applications globally and easily scale
its network to accommodate its growing customer base.
"As the enterprise works to utilize public cloud infrastructures, there is a
real need to provide consistent application access," said Lior Cohen, director
of cloud solutions, Radware. "The availability of Alteon VA on the AWS
Marketplace allows customers to gain the unique benefit of seamlessly deploying
applications across private and cloud infrastructures without any QoE and
visibility related concerns."
