iland leverages VMware, Cisco and Intel technology to fuel global expansion

iland, an award-winning, enterprise cloud infrastructure provider, today announced the availability of its cutting-edge cloud platform, iland Enterprise Cloud Services (iland ECS), in iland's Los Angeles data center. The platform offers cloud solutions powered by some of the most impressive technologies available today. These include VMware vCloud Director, Cisco UCS, Ivy Bridge microarchitecture by Intel, SSD and advanced storage, and iland's innovative monitoring, capacity, predictive analytics and billing dashboard.

"Customers continue to demand high performing cloud services, and by using VMware infrastructure, iland can provide customers with flexible hybrid cloud solutions," said Geoff Waters, vice president, Global Channel Partners, VMware. "We congratulate iland on the availability of iland ECS."

The launch of the iland ECS platform demonstrates iland's continued growth as a global destination of choice to run production workloads, test and development and disaster recovery requirements in the cloud. Los Angeles is the latest addition to iland's ECS sites in Reston, Va.; Dallas; and London, and serves as a gateway to iland's planned expansion into Asia-Pacific.

iland ECS is a self-service cloud infrastructure that offers quick provisioning of resources, scalability without downtime, consistent performance, flexible and affordable billing models and unprecedented transparency and control in a public or private cloud environment.

"By staying ahead of the technology curve, we have created an efficient, cost-effective enterprise level cloud service with all of the transparency and control of your own data center," said Brian Ussher, president of iland. "The technology surrounding the cloud is advancing at record pace alongside business demand and iland is committed to making these new technologies accessible to our customers."

iland also is a cloud provider on CoreSite's Open Cloud Exchange and is deploying iland CloudConnect in CoreSite's Los Angeles data center. CoreSite is a premier provider of network-dense, cloud-enabled data center solutions. Its Open Cloud Exchange marketplace offers best-of-breed partnerships and services from a broad range of providers, including iland. iland CloudConnect enables enterprises to build cost-effective and flexible hybrid cloud environments by establishing a dedicated network connection from private VMware-based platforms to iland's cloud, enabling iland to provide iland ECS and other products to customers securely, easily and with low latency.

iland CloudConnect is available to any CoreSite customer operating a VMware environment, allowing them to directly connect their private environments to iland's public cloud environment and meet their hybrid cloud goals. iland CloudConnect's direct connection offers reduced network costs, increased bandwidth throughput and a more consistent network experience than Internet-based connections.

"Working with VMware, Cisco and Intel to incorporate these technologies into our new enterprise platform will provide our customers with unbelievable performance and power," said Ussher. "When we combine this with iland's deep expertise and the benefits of CoreSite's Open Cloud Exchange, it provides enterprises with the genuine ability to execute on their hybrid cloud strategies."
