SolarWinds Replaces HP OpenView, Providing Reliable and Cost-Effective Performance Monitoring and Configuration Management for Bulletproof Solutions
SolarWinds, a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced that IT solutions provider Bulletproof Solutions replaced HP OpenView with SolarWinds' network management solutions to meet the company's high standards of delivering powerful and comprehensive network monitoring and configuration management to their clients.

Bulletproof Solutions is a full-service IT provider based in Atlantic Canada that advises and provides clients with recommended IT infrastructure management to optimize their organizations' performance and security. The company formerly used HP OpenView to monitor clients' networks, but Joshua Biggley, Operations Architect for Bulletproof Solutions, said his team was disappointed by the high total cost of ownership and extensive time commitments required to use the software.

"HP OpenView did not work for us because the system required too much effort to expand and maintain. We almost needed an HP consultant to use it," Biggley said.

Bulletproof Solutions sought to replace HP OpenView with a solution that was easy to deploy, would provide out-of-the-box value, and would work seamlessly with other essential management tools. The team found what they needed in SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager (NCM).

"SolarWinds has a lower total cost of ownership and a much shorter return on investment than HP OpenView," Biggley said.

Biggley and his team commonly use SolarWinds NPM and SolarWinds NCM to identify and address issues in their clients' network bandwidth, to monitor hardware performance, and to back up hardware configurations. Biggley has also had to troubleshoot problems for clients and has frequently reached out to SolarWinds' customer support, product managers, and SolarWinds' user community, thwack, to find answers to his questions.

"SolarWinds seems like a magical mix of inexpensive software and exemplary customer service," Biggley said. "It's one of the best relationships we've ever had with a network monitoring software vendor."
