InfoGraphic: GigaSpaces Big Data Survey on the Cloud

GigaSpaces recently created a new InfoGraphic based on survey results that they received from one of their annual surveys.  I love the story that these InfoGraphics paint, and this is another good one.

Within the survey results, GigaSpaces found out a few interesting things, such as:

New developments in cloud infrastructure, such as the support for bare-metal in the new OpenStack releases, as well as support, high memory, flash disk, etc, are removing many of the technical barriers for running I/O intensive workloads like Big Data in the cloud.  Indeed, according to the survey, there was a significant shift towards the use of Big Data in the cloud with 55% of organizations either using or planning to run their Big Data in the cloud in 2014.

Check out the InfoGraphic below, and also read Nati Shalom's blog post which goes into more detail about this industry survey's results.

And don't forget to check out Nati Shalom's 8 Cloud and Big Data Predictions for 2014 that he contributed to VMblog.com.
